Double-sided print illustrates, explains, and humanizes the Apollo 11 moonwalk.

Design: RJ Andrews
Publication: 2020
Material: Double-sided 100# uncoated paper
Size: 24 × 16 in (610 × 406 mm)
Folded size: 12-page accordion fold to 8 in (203 mm) square
Sleeve: 8.5 in square 80# LUX Paper in Midnight Black

After four days of travel, a daring landing, and hours of preparation, the hatch of Apollo 11’s Lunar Module Eagle opened on the Moon. For the next two hours and thirty-two minutes, astronauts Neil Armstrong and  Buzz Aldrin explored an area the size of a baseball diamond while Michael Collins orbited above in the command and service module Columbia.

This folded broadside conveys a spatial-temporal view of the moonwalk exploration from hatch open to hatch close—told through radio transmission highlights and illustrated activities. The reverse side of the print presents the full moonwalk transcript, color-coded to astronauts Armstrong, Aldrin, Collins, and Mission Control in Houston.

The print arrives in a custom sleeve decorated with a diagram of the lunar descent. The diagram is based on Fig 5-1. Lunar descent orbital events from the November 1969 Apollo 11 Mission Report. The sleeve houses the print on your shelf for easy reference. The print can also be hung in a standard 24 × 16 inch frame.
